A Three Card Post

Good evening!
Sorry that it is so long since my last post.  I thought that as it was nearly time for the next Clarity shows, I had better get on with blogging the last ones.  These shows featured the lovely silhouette stamps.  They are really good if you like doing backgrounds, or if you don't they are good to use with the Clarity designer paper pads.

For the firs tone, I stamped the 'You Hung the Moon' image on the back of a sheet of designer paper, then stamped some words from the mini word chains(an absolute must have!!) across the bottom part of the card.  I used colours which matched the paper.
I stamped out the 'You Hung the Moon' words, coloured them in the same colours, cut them out, edged them in black ink and added them to the card.  I edged the card with black ink and attached it to the base card.
Finish with some black gems
For the second card, I die cut some stars from a piece of the new designer card
I add some splodges and splashes of ink onto a piece of white card then stamped the 'Fly Away Boy'
I stamped the foliage stamp along the bottom in green ink
I attached it to a matching piece of the designer card and added the stars across the top of the card
I stamped the words You and Star and cut them out then attached them to the card
For the last card, I stamped the Flutterby Girl  and the Carpe Diem on a piece of designer card.
For the background I used white card and blended a matching yellow/gold ink along the edges and stamped the branch and the words Hope and Faith.
Add some gems to finish

Thanks for visiting.  Don't forget to tune in on Sunday and Monday to see Barbara and the team in action.  There are some lovely stamps coming up on the Sunday afternoon show!

Pop of Colour

Good evening,
Thank you for visiting this evening.  On Sunday we had our monthly crafty get together.  It was good to catch up with everyone again.  We had to cancel the last one because of snow, amazingly changeable weather we have in the UK.
This is the card I did for the group, two versions of the same card.  I do like black and grey with just a pop of colour and I think the Art Nouveau stamps from Clarity lend themselves particularly well to this idea.

 This is the pink version.....
...and this is the orange version, still waiting for the greeting when the occasion arises

I simply stencilled in black soot down the edge of the card, stamped and coloured the Art Nouveau stamp on a separate piece of card and added some gems to finish

Best wishes,
Janet xx

Handbags

Good morning!
A bit of an early one for me.  I woke up early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I've been up a while and thought I would do a quick blog.
These are two versions of one of the cards I did at the Diva Red workshop on Saturday.  It is done the same way as a Christmas card I did at the Claritystampers East workshop at the end of last year.

For the background I used mt latest favourite technique of squishing ink on to acetate, adding a bit of water, then pressing the ink on the card.  Do this with two separate colours.  Allow to dry, then stamp the script
Stamp, colour and cut out the bag and purse.
Tke a piece of copy paper and blend plenty of ink in two colours, scrunch up and lightly dd more ink directly from the inkpad, to catch the raised areas of the paper.  Stamp the pusre over it, just for some background interest, it doesn't matter if the image doesn't come out completely.
Tear strips of the paper.
Gather all the bits and assemble them on the card, try several layouts without sticking anything until you are happy.
Add a Clarity flower or two and some gems to finish
I did a second version in a different colourway

All stamps from Claritystamp.

Thanks for visiting

Catching up (again!)

Hello everyone,
Thanks for visiting.  How are the new year's resolutions going??  Me?  I didn't even bother this year - I never keep them any way.  I usually resolve to get to bed earlier and to get the prep for workshops done earlier, both of which I manage to achieve once or twice throughout the year, so they are an ongoing goal!

Today's cards are two I made for the last TV show using the Art Nouveau stamps

Nice easy one just using a couple of colours
Stamp the Thank You along the edge of the background card
Stamp the main image of another piece of card
Colour with greys and reds
Cut to size and mount both pieces of card on black and add to the base card.
Finish with some gems

This card took much longer.
I stamped the image on lots of pieces of the lovely Clarity designer paper pads, cut out and paper pieced over the main stamped image
Cut out, mount on black then on to another piece of the designer paper

With best wishes,
Janet xx
